Your Teacher

Kerry Lyn Honey.

Kerry-Lyn Honey is an artist, art educator, creative mentor and strategic creative facilitator with over 26 years of experience in Fine Art and Design. As the founder of Hartspace Art Studio, she is passionate about helping people reconnect with their creativity in ways that are meaningful, enjoyable and deeply rewarding. Kerry-Lyn believes that creativity is an essential part of being human. She provides a welcoming space where everyone is encouraged to explore, create and grow at their own pace, guiding each individual through the creative process with patience, encouragement and expert tuition. Her relaxed, supportive teaching style removes the pressure of perfection, replacing self-doubt with confidence, curiosity and a genuine sense of achievement. Students leave not only with beautiful, original artworks but also with new skills, renewed confidence and the inspiration to continue creating long after their creative experience at Hartspace has ended.

A Wealth of Experience
Kerry-Lyn completed her undergraduate studies in Fine Art at Nelson Mandela University, before further developing her expertise through study and professional practice at Rhodes University in Grahamstown, Oxford Printers in the United Kingdom and Edinburgh Printmakers in Scotland. She has also worked alongside renowned South African artists through David Krut Projects and Gallery in Johannesburg. Throughout her career, Kerry-Lyn has participated in numerous local, national and international projects, workshops, conferences and exhibitions, building a rich and diverse body of experience that she generously shares with every student she teaches. She has lectured extensively in Fine Art and Design at various institutions and has played an important role in arts education within South Africa. Kerry-Lyn has embraced the opportunity to continue nurturing artists independently through private teaching and creative initiatives, helping to keep artistic learning alive within her community.

The Hartspace Experience

Hartspace Art Studio offers weekly creative art classes, specialised workshops, immersive retreats and corporate team-building experiences.

Every workshop and retreat is thoughtfully designed to nurture both personal growth and artistic development.

Kerry-Lyn encourages participants to embrace every stage of the creative journey, exploring a variety of methods, materials and techniques—a process that leads to greater confidence, fresh perspectives and unexpected discoveries. Her retreats offer the opportunity to step away from everyday demands and immerse in restorative creative experiences, in calm, inspiring environments.

For businesses and organisations, Kerry-Lyn designs engaging, interactive creative experiences that strengthen collaboration, communication and innovative thinking. She has facilitated workshops and strategic creative sessions for organisations including Mercedes-Benz South Africa, KFC, Stutt Bricks, Johnson & Johnson, Dynamic Brands among others, combining storytelling, strategy and hands-on creativity to produce lasting artworks that reflect both individual contribution and collective vision.

An Invitation to Create

If you have a yearning to explore your creative side but felt intimidated, self-conscious or uncertain of your creative abilities, Hartspace Art Studio is the perfect, nurturing place to begin.

Kerry-Lyn creates an atmosphere where everyone feels welcomed, supported and encouraged. Her guidance and teachings help participants move beyond fear and perfectionism, allowing creativity to unfold naturally and confidently.
